            Candy’s No-Salt Crockpot Simmered Fresh Vegetable Soup     Soup is the ultimate comfort food. Unfortunately, most store-bought or restaurant soups are loaded with sodium. In an effort to still be able to partake of one of the most enjoyable of all food selections but in a healthier way, my sister Candy decided to experiment and create her own no-salt, crockpot simmered, fresh vegetable soup.                     She found Swanson’s no-salt broth at the Stop & Shop supermarket, then picked out fresh cabbage, carrots, zucchini, yellow squash, celery, broccoli, onions, and green pepper.                   MERRY CHRISTMAS BROWNIES   When I decided to bake Christmas brownies I never imagined I would come across such a multitude of ideas, from brownies stacked as gifts and tied with bows to green frosting laden Christmas Tree brownies to pretzel ear reindeer brownies to white frosting bearded Santa Claus brownies.                     No Eggs Tomato Soup Cake   With the cost of eggs on the rise, when my sister Candy came across a No Eggs Tomato Soup Cake recipe in our mother’s recipe box she thought it would be timely and helpful. It is one that Mom wrote out on an index card – we both always enjoy seeing the recipes written in Mom’s penmanship. My sister recently tried the recipe herself for the first time.                 A year ago the Mom’s Recipe Box Family Series kicked off with a patriotic beginning on one of my mother’s favorite holidays – Fourth of July.
