Malloy Claims Victory in Governor’s Race – Connecticut True Blue While Other States See Red?

Story & Photos by Jacqueline Bennett newsandviewsjb.com   While other states are now seeing red in the governor’s office, it appears Connecticut has stayed true blue – red being the color traditionally symbolic of Republican conservatives and blue representing liberal Democrats. Incumbent Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy, a Stamford Democrat, began claiming victory over GOP challenger, Greenwich Republican Tom Foley, in the early morning hours following the November 4 election. At 6 a.m. Wednesday morning, with 90 percent of precinct results in, Malloy was reported to be ahead by 3 percentage points. Malloy and Foley are in a neck and neck contest and also face Independent candidate Joe Visconti. With the November election  mere weeks away, soon enough voters will know who ran on the ‘hottest’, that is the winning ticket. Addressing the event Blumenthal highlighted a special friendship he has forged, and then obliged a request from the crowd doubling his donation from not one, but to two breakfasts with him in Washington D.C. Valentine’s Day Nuptials Continue Tradition in 52nd Year for Connecticut’s Oldest Town

Several couples not only picked up their licenses but also tied the knot at Windsor Town Hall. A half dozen weddings took place Friday morning and at least three more were planned for late afternoon – plus Justice of the Peace Anita Mips was prepared for impromptu ceremonies such as one she stood ready to officiate for Ronnie Williams and Trena Canty.
