Malloy Claims Victory in Governor’s Race – Connecticut True Blue While Other States See Red?

Story & Photos by Jacqueline Bennett newsandviewsjb.com   While other states are now seeing red in the governor’s office, it appears Connecticut has stayed true blue – red being the color traditionally symbolic of Republican conservatives and blue representing liberal Democrats. Incumbent Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy, a Stamford Democrat, began claiming victory over GOP challenger, Greenwich Republican Tom Foley, in the early morning hours following the November 4 election. At 6 a.m. Wednesday morning, with 90 percent of precinct results in, Malloy was reported to be ahead by 3 percentage points. Write-Up by (UConn alum) Jacqueline Bennett newsandviewsjb.com   Thanks to Ted Kennedy, Jr. of Branford, Connecticut, the University of Connecticut’s connection to the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge has reached UConn’s top administrator. An alumnus of the UConn School of Law and candidate for state senate, after accepting the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge from his friend, news anchor Dennis House of WFSB, Kennedy in turn called out UConn President Susan Herbst. The challenges were reported on The Laurel, as well as, on social media where the charitable effort went viral in the United States earlier this year.
