This coming weekend will be a busy one in Simsbury , Connecticut.

On Saturday, September 13, the 8th Annual Agricultural Grange Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This is a small fair but it is free and takes place in lovely West Simsbury. Again this year there will be hayrides – (this is where I took my first hayride two years ago.) As well,  there will be refreshments and crafts. In the past a solo guitarist played soft rock outside the grange while inside visitors viewed the contest submissions in various categories – contest submissions have been extended to Friday, Sept 12 go towww.simsburygrange.org for more information.

The next day, Sunday, September 14, the popular 29th Annual Simsbury Fly-In & Car Show takes place at Simsbury Airport on 94 Wolcott Road from 8 a.m to 3 p.m. Admission is free, however, donations are accepted to go to the Boy Scouts. Nearby parking is $10. In addition to offering an up close look at vintage and modern aircraft there will be formation flying, a hot air balloon, parachuting and a military flyover. Typically the fly-in draws big crowds so prepare to wait in traffic – but it is worth the wait. Go to http://www.simsburyflyin.com for more information.
