Paul Vance of the Connecticut State Police is announced on any newscast or reported in any newspaper, it comes with a level of credibility that may well be unequaled throughout the state of Connecticut. The reassuring sound of his voice, and his candid, yet well-chosen words, have come to symbolize the best in public service and true transparency in government. He represents law enforcement and the uniform he wears with distinction.   The high regard that the citizens of Connecticut hold for Lt. Vance became even more apparent recently when he was reassigned by the new commissioner from the high profile position of  head of public information to traffic control – a position he is slated to begin…

Commentary by Jacqueline Bennett newsandviewsjb.com   When NBC’s Brian Williams broke into regular programming Monday night with a news bulletin I braced myself to hear about another horrific incident in the Middle East conflict. Instead, as the rest of the nation, I was stunned to learn that beloved Academy Award winning actor, and comedian Robin Williams was dead at age 63. From the beginning the sadness in Brian Williams’ announcement indicated there was more to the story. And, in a broadcast press conference yesterday the local sheriff’s office announced Williams had been found in his California home presumably having hung himself. He leaves a wife and three children. Boy Bullied for Appearance, Speech Invited to New England Patriots Game

Here’s another reason to cheer for the New England Patriots today as they take on the Miami Dolphins. For anyone who missed the story on the Ellen Show last week, young Danny Keefe who was born with a brain hemorrage and has a speech impediment yet defied the odds to not only walk but run, was being teased at school because of his appearance and the way he speaks. Danny has a favorite jacket and likes to wear it with a tie and fedora hat to classes. Sadly, some children at his school bullied Danny teasing him about his speech and wearing a suit. and snatching away his hat.
